Case Study - Wales and West Utilities
In 2013, CAVC entered into an umbrella contract with Wales and West Utilities for all training needs, we are their preferred supplier for professional and technical training and apprenticeships. Wales and West Utilities view the development and upskilling of their staff as an integral part of business sustainability and success.
We work with Wales and West Utilities to make sure employees are competent and confident in their roles. In 2018, the College successfully tendered for the renewal of this contract. As a managed service provider, CAVC dedicates resource to managing the supply chain of training providers that support the delivery of the training to Wales and West Utilities. In addition, regular contract and compliance meetings are set to ensure service levels and quality of delivery.
Theresa Williams, Head of Learning and Development at Wales and West Utilities, is also a member of the Quality Standards Board at the College. Our delivery to Wales and West Utilities has included delivery of over 100 NVQs in the areas of customer service and business administration. We have also supported the management development programmes, which has included team leading and coaching. Our provision has also included a wide range of technical training in the areas of health and safety including general and site-specific provision. We also manage their apprenticeship provision.The contract is relevant to providing qualifications to meet workforce needs and providing opportunities to support lower skilled parts of the workforce.
